Hello, if you are applying for Private Hire Vehicle license in London, SERU is the exam Transport for London department introduced that you must need to pass. It will be a computer based exam that covers all the city level transport rules and regulations. If i answer the question in simple word, you cannot book the SERU assessment exam yourself. You will be invited to take the exam by TfL once you have applied for a private hire driver's licence. So there is no such saperate process to book SERU exam from your end.

When you are invited to take the SERU assessment, you will receive an email or letter with a link to book your appointment. You will be able to choose a date and time for your appointment from a list of available slots.

Here are the steps on how to book your SERU assessment:
  • Wait for TfL to invite you to take the exam.
  • Open the email or letter from TfL and click on the link to book your appointment.
  • Choose a date and time for your appointment from the list of available slots.
  • Pay the £36 assessment fee.
  • Print out your confirmation email or letter.
  • You will need to bring your confirmation email or letter with you to your SERU assessment. You will also need to bring a valid form of identification, such as a passport or driving licence.
